Small Groups

This picture helps explain how all our small groups and church gatherings fit together. Jesus said "whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." (John 6:35) So all our church activity is built around this symbol of Jesus quenching our thirst. Where the living water mixes with the salty water is an Estuary. Our fortnightly Estuary group (aka Jordan Peterson discussion group) is an opportunity for Christians and non-Christians to talk about life, meaning and the universe. Further upstream is our weekly church gathering; a mixture of believers and observers, that meets on Sunday mornings. Individual discipleship and small groups are a way of learning more about Jesus. But the ultimate goal is the source of all this water is, to mix metaphors, the ability to know God and be known by God. Feel free to contact us ( pastor@stkildapc.org ) for more information about any of these groups.

Our Estuary discussion group, nicknamed 'Logos Melbourne', or 'the Estuary', meets in person once a month at the St Kilda church building and once a month at St James Old Cathedral. Everyone is welcome, often the focus of the discussion is on philosophy, religion and culture.

If you want to study the Bible in a relaxed small group setting, this group and time may suit you:

  • 2pm Wednesday, at the St Kilda church building (currently in recess during June & July)

If you want to know how to become a Christian, be baptised or read the Bible together with someone individually, contact us to arrange a time at a cafe on Carlisle St, Balaclava.

Sometimes we have special training or Apologetics groups after the church gathering on Sunday afternoons, these are announced during the church service and through the church email list.

Sharing the meaning and grace we find in Jesus
